The Hunger Games ~ Ch. 23

Chapter 23
1. Why does Thresh's death affect Katniss?
~ Katniss thought Thresh could have killed Cato. He let her live when he could have easily killed her. She thinks he could have been her friend. If he was from District 12, I'm sure he could have been friends with her. That is how Tresh's death affected Katniss.

2. Who is left in the arena?
~ Katniss, Peeta, Cato, and Foxface are the only ones left. Toward the end of the chapter though, Foxface dies from eating poisonous berries. She had gotten them from the cave of Peeta and Katniss. They would
have been dead if it wasn't for Foxface. Those are the people who are left in the arena.

3. What Katniss' fears if she wins the Games?
~ She fears that if she wins she won't have anything to do. She can't hunt anymore because she will already have food. She will be bored. She has taught herself to kill prey and if she wins it will seems it was all for nothing. That is what she fears if she wins the Games.

4. What happens to Foxface?
~ She was poisoned by berries that Peeta had left in the cave. Peeta had gathered berries while Katniss went off to hunt. He thought those berries were the same ones that Katniss had given him. When the cannon shot and they picked up Foxface's body, Peeta was surprised. He didn't know what or who killed her, then Katniss held out the berries to him as an answer.
